Ky Meyer
Founder + CEO, Kollective Media

Elevating Culture.
Building Platforms.
Creating Connection.

Ky Meyer is a Webby Award winning Creative Director, Producer, Founder, former broadcast journalist, and cultural storyteller whose career has spanned television, music, digital media, live events, experiential marketing, and brand innovation for more than two decades.

Known for her ability to spot cultural shifts before they happen, Ky has built a reputation as a connector, community builder, and creative force behind some of the most compelling stories, personalities, brands, and cultural conversations of her generation.

Long before creator culture became an industry, she was building platforms, amplifying voices, and helping audiences discover the artists, entrepreneurs, and changemakers shaping the future.

Storytelling has been at the center of her life from the very beginning.

A lifelong performer, musician, dancer, communicator, and creative, Ky spent her early years immersed in the arts, developing the confidence, curiosity, and stage presence that would later define her career in media.

Whether speaking to a packed audience, producing a television segment, interviewing a cultural icon, or helping a brand find its voice, her gift has always been the same: Helping people connect.

That instinct would eventually lead her into journalism, where she began her professional career as a television news reporter working for NBC affiliate stations across Washington State.

As a young journalist, Ky covered everything from high profile murder investigations and breaking news to public safety issues, often working alongside law enforcement, gang enforcement units, and community leaders on stories that carried real world consequences.

The work was meaningful and often transformative. It offered a front row seat to both the resilience and fragility of the human experience, shaping not only the journalist Ky would become, but the storyteller she would spend the rest of her life evolving into.

While she remained committed to journalism's mission of informing and serving the public, she found herself increasingly drawn to another side of storytelling. One centered on creativity, culture, music, entrepreneurship, and the people building something extraordinary in their communities.

That realization would shape the next chapter of her career.

After working in local television news, Ky relocated to Los Angeles, where she worked as a freelance broadcast journalist and media personality while expanding into entertainment and digital media. During this time, she became one of the early hosts in the emerging podcast space, hosting one of the first podcasts produced out of Clear Channel's Universal City studios.

She was also among the first live streaming podcast hosts covering the historic day the world learned of Michael Jackson's passing, a defining cultural moment that underscored the rapidly evolving relationship between traditional media, digital platforms, and audience engagement.

Long before podcasting, creator culture, and digital storytelling became mainstream industries, Ky was already exploring new ways to connect audiences with stories in real time.

That ability to recognize cultural shifts before they happen would become a defining characteristic of her career.

A trailblazer in Houston media, Ky later joined the founding team behind NewsFix, the nation's first anchorless television newscast on The CW Network.

Unlike traditional local news, NewsFix broke nearly every rule in the broadcast playbook. The groundbreaking program blended journalism, culture, music, personality, and visual storytelling into a format designed for a new generation of viewers. At a time when many local television stations were struggling to stay relevant, NewsFix helped breathe new life into Houston's CW network and became one of the most talked about innovations in local television.

Rather than relying on a traditional anchor desk, stories were delivered through hosts, immersive visuals, fast paced editing, and a style that felt more like entertainment television than conventional news. The result was a fresh, culturally relevant approach that inspired viewers, educators, aspiring journalists, and an entirely new generation of news consumers.

Industry insiders said it wouldn't work.

Instead, NewsFix became one of the most successful and influential local television programs of its era, expanding from Houston into Dallas and Miami and remaining on the air for nearly a decade.

As both a producer and later the first female host of NewsFix, Ky helped shape the show's voice, creative direction, and cultural impact.

She wasn't simply reporting on Houston's culture.

She was helping define how it was seen.

As both a producer and later the first female host of NewsFix, Ky helped shape the show's voice, creative direction, and cultural impact.

She wasn't simply reporting on Houston's culture.

She was helping define how it was seen.

Through NewsFix and later Tuned In with Ky Meyer, she helped introduce musicians, artists, entrepreneurs, athletes, creators, and cultural leaders to audiences across one of America's largest and most influential media markets.

At a time when Houston's population exceeded six million residents and its creative economy was rapidly expanding, these platforms gave local talent access to mainstream television audiences numbering in the millions.

Over the years, her platforms featured everyone from emerging local talent to globally recognized artists and cultural icons. From Bun B, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Scarface, Beyoncé, and Drake to first time entrepreneurs, independent artists, and grassroots community leaders, Ky built a reputation for seeing potential before the rest of the world caught on. Whether highlighting hometown heroes or internationally recognized talent, she consistently used her platform to amplify voices, create opportunity, and document culture as it was unfolding.

Long before creators, influencers, and independent artists became fixtures of mainstream media, Ky was helping elevate the voices shaping Houston's cultural future.

She later created and hosted the award winning Tuned In with Ky Meyer, becoming one of the first television producers in Houston to consistently spotlight local artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and changemakers through long form conversations and cultural storytelling.

More than a television host, Ky became a cultural cheerleader and trusted advocate for Houston's creative community, using her platform to champion emerging talent, celebrate innovation, and help connect people who were building the future of the city.

She was also the television producer behind Bun's Beat, a recurring segment featuring Houston hip hop icon Bun B of UGK. Airing as part of NewsFix, the segment explored music, culture, education, and current events while celebrating Houston's unique voice and influence.

The segment became more than entertainment. It created meaningful conversations around culture, history, education, and community while documenting the rise of one of Houston's most influential cultural ambassadors. Today, Bun B's impact spans music, education, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, professional sports, and the nationally recognized Trill Burgers brand. Ky is proud to have helped tell a chapter of that story as it was unfolding.

Throughout her career, Ky has produced television, podcasts, live events, music festivals, experiential activations, community initiatives, brand campaigns, and media platforms that engage audiences and strengthen communities.

Her work has been featured by NBC, CNN, Fox, The CW, MTV, BET, KTLA, The Breakfast Club, The Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, HuffPost, and The New York Times, reaching audiences across television, digital media, live experiences, and international platforms.

Ky was also selected as one of the original faces of the Maybelline Five, a pioneering creator campaign launched by Maybelline New York. Long before influencer marketing became a billion dollar industry, she was helping shape an early blueprint for modern creator culture through storytelling, content creation, and authentic audience engagement.

Most recently, Ky served as Creative Director and Producer of the Webby Award winning podcast Lost & Found, recipient of both a Webby Award and a People's Voice Award for Best Creativity & Marketing Podcast. The project was recognized alongside some of the most respected names in entertainment and media, underscoring Ky's ability to create content that resonates on a global stage.

Truth be told, there's a good chance you've experienced Ky's work without even realizing it.

For more than two decades, she has helped shape campaigns, productions, partnerships, stories, and cultural moments for brands, artists, entrepreneurs, public figures, and changemakers. Widely recognized as a connector, community builder, and multidisciplinary creative, Ky has built a career around bringing people together, creating opportunity, and helping bold ideas find their audience.

Whether behind the scenes shaping the vision or in front of the camera telling the story, her work has always centered on one thing:
Helping people connect.

Today, as Founder and CEO of Kollective Media, Ky partners with brands, artists, entrepreneurs, organizations, and visionaries to create stories, experiences, and ideas that move people.

Lead with authenticity. Create with purpose. Make people feel something.

Because the strongest brands, communities, and movements are built on human connection.

Ky is also a musician, Recording Academy Voting Member, and lifelong advocate for creativity, culture, entrepreneurship, and community.

Most importantly, she is a mother. That role shapes how she leads, creates, and shows up in the world.

Life has also taught her the power of resilience.

It remains one of the most profound chapters of her life.

A chapter marked by resilience, reinvention, heartbreak, healing, motherhood, and an entirely new understanding of what truly matters.

Just months after surviving a devastating car accident and beginning a long road to recovery, Ky learned she was pregnant with her son. What followed was one of the most transformative seasons of her life, navigating healing, new motherhood, a global pandemic, and a historic civil rights movement all at once.

The experience challenged her, reshaped her, and ultimately deepened her understanding of resilience, community, purpose, and what it truly means to rebuild.

For years, much of that story has remained private.

But as she enters this next season of life, Ky is embracing the opportunity to share more of it.

Not because the journey was easy.

Because it wasn't.

But because she believes our most difficult experiences often become our greatest teachers.

The lessons, the setbacks, the victories, and the moments that nearly broke her have all become part of a larger story. One she hopes will inspire others to keep going, trust their own journey, and find meaning in even the most challenging chapters of life.

Today, much of her greatest joy comes from motherhood and raising her son, who continues to inspire her daily.

With new projects, new platforms, and new adventures on the horizon, Ky is embracing the opportunity to bring audiences along for the journey as a mother, entrepreneur, creator, and lifelong storyteller.

Because while her career has already spanned television, music, journalism, podcasting, live events, and digital media, Ky believes the most meaningful stories are still waiting to be told.

The truth is, some stories take years to understand before you're ready to tell them.

Ky believes that time is finally here.

The next chapter is just beginning.

Stay tuned.
